Chip is a cute and compact well put together well-bred AQHA 11 year old 14.2 hand bay gelding. He has nice big feet and is put together like one should be. This is a very nicely trained horse that is fun too ride and handy. He collects up well, has a nice jog and lopes out on cue. He takes his leads, has a good stop, backs soft and will side pass with ease to open and close the gates. He has a pretty turn around and will lope out of his tracks as well when asked. Chip is outstanding to ride in our urban environment as well as out on the rugged mountain trails. On the streets he is unconcerned about the passing trucks, cars, bicycles or the neighborhood dogs charging and barking at the fence. On the trails he is super sure footed and is a Rockstar at navigating or steep rocky terrain. He will lead or follow, ride quiet in larger groups as well as going out alone. This horse crosses anything we ask with no hesitation. He will go up, down, over, around or thru whatever we have pointed him at. Crosses the water and the trail bridges and will hop right in the trailer. Stands good for the farrier. Before coming to California he was used on the ranch working, doctoring and sorting, gathering and shipping cattle. This is a really cool fun riding gelding. We feel he would be best suited for an intermediate rider as he moves light off hand and leg cues. If you like them light and feely you are gonna love Chip!
