Cowboy is an attractive, well put together AQHA 6-year-old Red Dun gelding that stands a little under 14.3 hands. He’s well-bred with cow horse and foundation bloodlines. This cute gelding is hard to fault anywhere. He has great conformation with good bone and foot. He is well trained, handy and fun to ride and works well with light hand and leg cues. In the arena Cowboy will have a good one hand neck rein, collect up well and is soft in his face. He has a smooth and comfortable to sit jog and lope. Lopes out on cue, takes his leads, stops, backs and side passes very well. This horse is outstanding to ride out anywhere, from busy neighborhood streets to the rugged mountain trails. When riding out on the trails, Cowboy will lead, follow, ride quietly in any position of a group of horses as well as out alone. He is very sure footed on steep rugged single-track trails and is equally sure footed in a rocky river bed. Crosses the river, creeks, deadfall and trail obstacles. When riding around our busy urban streets Cowboy does great with everything we have encountered including all kinds of fast passing vehicles, barking charging dogs and the farm animals we frequently ride past. Cowboy has worked cattle, has been used on the ranch and has been ridden by experienced youth riders. Saddles up gentle and stays gentle with time off, has no hump or buck but requires a more seasoned rider who knows how to operate him with light hand and leg cues and is not an appropriate fit for a beginner rider. Although he is very gentle, he is responsive and light. He is a horse that aims to please and do exactly what you are asking of him and is an absolute pleasure to ride. He has no bad habits or vices, is UTD on his vaccinations and has recently had his teeth floated. He is six panel NN and is a get along kind of gelding wherever he is housed. This 100% sound gelding is a really cool, handy and fun to ride kind of horse.
